I'm done with events for 2008, but you have a chance to see me early in 2009 at the British Museum on Saturday 25 January. I'll be giving a NEW talk: A Day in the Life of a Roman Child*. It will be lavishly illustrated with artefacts and with images from the Tunisian and Bulgarian sets of the TV series, and from my travels to Italy, Greece, North Africa and California (Getty Villa). Unusually, I will be IN COSTUME as a Roman matron. (This is a rare chance to see me in costume as I'm trying to give it up!)
You will find out:
What Roman children ate
for breakfast, lunch and dinner
What they wore
Where they lived
How they went to school
How they had fun
How they went to the toilet
and other fun hygiene facts
Tickets are only £3.50 if you belong to the British Museum Young Friends club. Or £5.00 if you aren't a Young Friend. Ticket price includes a free copy of a Roman Mystery, which I will be happy to sign after my talk.
To book your place, ring 020 7323 8181 or make your booking in person at the Information Desk in the Great Court.
* This talk is suitable for children aged 7 and up; adults will enjoy it, too!

That sounds like a lot of fun, too bad I live in the U.S. =/ Are you ever going to fly over here to the states? Because I would definitely go if it was near my area. O and another question, did your agent think it was a good idea for the original name of the last book?
~Alex G.
Salve, Alex! Yes, I do come to the US sometimes but it's a big place! Where do you live?
To answer your second question, my agent liked 'The Final Task of Flavia Gemina' but the fans voted to keep 'The Man from Pomegranate Street' so that's what it will be!
