For the past few months I've been working on a new website. It is now up and 'live'. One of my old pupils, Ben, is the creative genius behind the new look and his pal and partner, Cyberboy, is the technobrain.
Not that Ben isn't clever! Not that Cyberboy isn't creative!
In Wayne's World, Garth says 'We fear change.' But change can be an opportunity for improvement. My favourite thing about the new site is an icon and page called DORMOUSE, which is devoted to quizzes, fun news and other silly things. Do please give me feedback and suggestions. I know you will be sensitive and polite, as all Roman Mysteries fans are.
P.S. Ten years later and I still have the same website... It seems I do fear change after all!

ReplyDeleteI've read your writing tips page (I want to be an author too :D), but does that apply to very small books? At school we've been asked to write a story on any topic but we have a limit of 1,500 words. I have real trouble coming up with good ideas and plots - could you help me?
I also want to say that after 4 years, I still love your books as much as ever. I haven't had a chance to read The Prophet of Ephesus yet, but I'm ordering it as soon as my piano exam is over - I wouldn't have any time to read it if I got it now. Also, have you got any books that you recommend me to read (I am 13), as I read books really quickly.
I never knew that I had the same birthday as you - May 24!

ReplyDeleteYes, the seven (or ten) plot beats work for short stories and even for scenes in a bigger story. Try them out!
